Limited capabilities to manually identify RT planar images and single slice Catphan uploads using DICOM tag values have been added to the image processing system. If the analysis type is selected in the upload widget dropdown or if the upload widget is set to a specific analysis, this will override the analysis type specified in the tags. If using tags to identify the analysis type, ensure that the analysis type is unassigned.
RT Planar Images
Applies to: QC3 (MV Planar), QC-kV (kV Planar), Radiation L/F, Picket Fence, Winston-Lutz, Leeds (kV planar), Starshot, Asymmetry, MLC Transmission, Flatness, and VMAT tests.
This is an extension of the existing naming convention system. The logic is:
- If the test name is in the file name that takes the first precedence.
- The DICOM tags will not be checked if a match is found in the file name.
- If no test name matches in the file name then the software checks in the PatientID, StudyID and SeriesDescription tags.
- The tags are checked for each image passed.
- The tags are checked in the order above. If a match is found the search ends for the image.
- If neither is present attempt auto-identification.
- The matching search strings are case insensitive.
Although this forces the initial identification of the image it is not a guarantee that the analysis will run if the image is unsuitable for the chosen analysis.
Test |
Search String |
Notes |
Asymmetric Fields (MV) |
asym |
Both images must have a tag value set. |
Leeds (kV planar) |
leeds |
|
MLC Transmission and Dosimetric Leaf Gap |
mlctrans |
All images in the series must have a tag value set. |
Picket Fence |
picketfence |
If the picket fence test is from a Varian HD MLC then hd should also appear in the string. |
QC-3 (Planar MV) |
qcmv |
Both images must have a tag value set. |
QC-kV (kV Planar) |
qckv |
Both images must have a tag value set. |
Radiation L/F |
radlight |
|
Starshot |
starshot |
Tiff images are assumed to be gantry starshots. DICOM images are assumed to be collimator or table starshot (determined automatically) |
VMAT Test 2 |
vmat2 |
Both images must have a tag value set. |
VMAT Test 3 |
vmat3 |
Both images must have a tag value set. |
Winston Lutz |
winstonlutz |
All images in the series must have a tag value set |
Catphan Analysis
Individual slices can be identified through modification of the DICOM tags to indicate the Catphan module.
- For now, this feature will only work when the user uploads a single slice. It may get extended in the future (for example for things like the multiple slices generally needed for a CTP515)
- The software checks in the PatientID, StudyID and SeriesDescription tags.
- The tags are checked for each image passed.
- The tags are checked in the order above. If a match is found the search ends for the image.
- If no match is found the automatic identification of the slice will be attempted.
- The matching search strings are case insensitive.
- Setting the module code does not guarantee the analysis will complete as a number of other factors come into play.
The following module codes are supported. Note not all modules are currently supported for display.
